The
rest of the Americas football includes all Latin American nations aside from
Brazil and Argentina, mainly base on Uruguayan players. Arsenio Erico was a
phenomenal star in the pre-war era but never got to play for Paraguay in
official match. The first half 1970s is the golden era of this zone as many
top-class Peruvian players such as Cubillas, Chumpitaz and Cueto plus Elias
Figueroa who is the greatest defensive south American defender ever appeared in
this era.

Severino Varela isn't on the list of strikers.
ReplyDeleteI have named him.
DeleteYou put Severino Varela as the best player of the 1st Half of 40s but then you put Obdulio varela as the best player of 1942,1943 and 1944. I think that you made a mistake and confuse the two Varelas.
ReplyDeleteOK thanks, let me reviews.
DeleteIn "The Greatest Football Players of All-Time" list, Schiaffino is between José Andrade and Scarone. But in the list of this page (and in "The Greatest Uruguayan Footballers of All-Time" list too), he stays first. Please fix that.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think about the carreer or Fernando Muslera? He wasn't well rated in Italy as a young player but he's a legend in Turkey and he has an extremely high DBS calcio rating, as well as many titles with Galatasaray and the Copa América 2011 and the fourth place at the World Cup 2010 with Uruguay. Doesn't he at least deserve a mention in positional ranking here?
ReplyDeleteI think the average rating standard in Turkey is relatively high. I rate only seasons with higher 6.8 in average to qualify international-class and he receives only a couple of times below my criteria that set at least three.

I think you forgot to add Francisco Zuluaga in the positional ranking here, since you have him as a main starter in your Northern Latin Americas Union squad, ahead of both Caicedo and Yepes. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteOK, Thanks
DeleteSchiaffino in positional ranking advanced midfielders above cubillas but in the list of the best players, he is below cubillas
ReplyDeleteHi Naratorn, I am Michele Benforti. Why do you have David Pizarro second in playmaker ranking, ahead of Valderrama, Uribe, Paz and Challe, yet he does not feature in your 9x100 positional ranking list as a playmaker, whereas Valderrama, Uribe, Paz and Challe do?
ReplyDeleteIs there any error?
Valderrama, Uribe, Paz and Challe aren't in the 9x100 list also. David Pizarro has proved his performance in higher standard competition (Series A in competitive era) than those players. I think he should deserve higher place.
DeleteValderrama is in 74th place, Ruben Paz in 81st, Uribe in reserved list. And yet Pizarro is not there...
DeleteWell, I'm acknowledged David Pizarro has a superior club career than the three players with around 4.5 upper inetrnational-class but he is lack of international recognition. He was not a starter in Copa America 2015 that Chile won the title. At Roma, he played well in 2008 UCL group stage and the first leg against Real Madrid but I don't know why he was always substituted in both leg against Man Utd.
DeleteProbably you have to forgot to update some of the rankings here. Godin is still 14th, should be 4th according to your 9x100 Positional ranking.
DeleteDelgado and De León should be above Meléndez. Here you still have Romano as attacking midfielder, whereas in the 9x100 he is now listed as a winger.
Vidal, Marcos and Gambetta should now be above Velásquez.
Abbadie should now be above Gómez Sánchez and Gradín.
OK I have done revision.
Deletegreat work
ReplyDeleteIn Bolivia I can be added varios players. Trucco, Rimba, Óscar Sánchez, Gustavo Quinteros, Sandy, Cristaldo, Melgar, Borja, Vladimir Soria, Baldivieso, Ramiro Castillo, Ramallo and Jaime Moreno. They are played a World Cup 1994 in USA.
ReplyDeleteJosé Leandro Andrade, Gambetta and Gestido has to be in the defensive lateral list, not in defensive midfielder list.
ReplyDelete
