Czechoslovakia Union

Czechoslovakia is the most successful team to come from Eastern Europe primarily dependent of its effectiveness of teamwork abilities and the number and level of great legends has been created in a low rate. All players from Czech Republic and Slovakia, after separation of Czechoslovakia in 1993, are also included. Its first ever famous legend is Karel Pesek Kada, the best center-half in Europe during the second half 1920s. Frantisek Planicka as a Czech representative became the best goalkeeper in the World during the second half 1930s. Josef Masopust, the first central midfielder ever to win Ballon’Dor award, was an icon of the golden era of Czechoslovakia in early 1960s. Ivo Viktor phenomenally saves in the 1976 Euro led the nation to win the only champion of major international tournament and became one of very few keepers to finish in top three Ballon’Dor. The era of independence saw Pavel Nedved as one of the best player in Europe during the first half 2000s.

You have created Teams for the Republic's of the former USSR - Russia, Ukraine, Georgia...
Maybe you should think also about different teams for Czech Rep. & Slovakia?

    1. I made the eleven players in three groups for Soviet Union as there are many legends enough to make it. Czech Republic has the enough number but Slovakia just had a few remarkable legends just five names in this squad. In the future, if Slovakia had additional legends, I'll create them for sure.

      I understand such position.
But in my opition, there were 15-20 players of extra-class in Slovakia. That is enough for team of 11 players:

GK Schrojf (Slovan), Stacho (Spartak Trnava).
DF Dobiaš (Spartak Trnava), Popluhar, Ondruš, Gögh, Pivarnik (Slovan), Jurkemik, Barmoš (Inter Bratislava).
MF Kozák, Geleta (Dukla), Kvašňák (Sparta Praha, but born in Košice), Bubernik, Jokl (Slovan), Kuna (Spartak Trnava), Moravčík & Hamšík.
FW Adamec (Spartak Trnava), Scherer, Petráš (Inter Bratislava), Masný & maybe Dubovský (Slovan).

In any case, have a nice day!))

    1. Thanks, I have revised info. Pilat won 4 caps let me reconsider if he is deserved for such an all-time XI.

    - 1 time European cup semi-final
    - 1 time Czechoslovak footballer of the year

    1. Fortunately, I have a Slovakian closed friend. He suggest Kuna is deserved a place. However, I see there is no room for him in all-time squad so I'd make his profile in reserved list.

  8. and as Ivan Hasek, Michal Bilek and Adolf Scherer could get at least in the reserves?

    1. These names are not accustomed to me. Do you have any detail that they're great enough ? I found few articles and those mention no outstanding profile on them.

  9. Naratorn Hasek, Bilek and Scherer are the dream team of the Czech Republic in a book that speaks of all World Cups which came out in Brazil, you can also add Masny and Moravcik in the squad.

I think that Rosicky could be even in the first team, or at least in the Major Reserved Group.

Rosicky have 105 international games and 23 goals. Was the czech footballer of the year three times (2001, 2002 and 2006) and Czech Golden Ball in 2002. Also was named as best offensive midfielder in Bundesliga 2001/2002 (maybe by the kicker magazine) and one most well ranked (top 5) midfielders in Bundesliga during 2 seasons (2001/2002 and 2002/2003). Peak years of Rosicky should have a better consideration.

    1. I agree underestimate Rosicky's football is one error

    2. Rosicky achieved international-class in 4 seasons at maximum as I checked in dbscalcio. I set at least 5 int.class seasons to qualify.

"Rosicky achieved international-class in 4 seasons at maximum as I checked in dbscalcio. I set at least 5 int.class seasons to qualify"

I have no problem with that criteria, however, I'm looking for the example of Poborsky and I ask you:

How many "international-class" seasons Poborsky achieved?

Let's remember that: Poborsky won just once the Czech FotY (shared) and also appeared just one time in the top-6 Eastern European FotY (all in the year of 1996). Aside of his Euro-96, Poborsky's carrer is pointless. Rosicky achieved more than him.

In this case why Poborsky (that have a very short peak - six games in euro 1996 in a 10 years carrer is nothing) have profile and Rosicky (that achieved a way better and consistent carrer and more prizes than him) doesn't have?

    4. OK I see. Poborsky is surely disqualified in club performance and Rosicky has a better profile than him. I will adjust the list.

I have a few who should be in consideration for at least minor reserves - Tomas Repka, Patrik Berger, Vladimir Smicer, Radek Bejbl, Milan Baros

  12. It seems that Nejedly, Puc and Planicka played alone, Cambodian injustice and Kostalek were lords of the midfield of Czechoslovakia as well as Daucik in defense in the 30's without mentioning that you can add Bican the greatest of all this time yeah, just like Kubala who was also a Czechoslovakian, Scherer can not be forgottenJan Berger, Hasek, Bilek, Suchoparek, Pivarnik, Gogh, Pollak, Rosicky and others.

Is Marek Hamsik far to be qualified ?

    1. He has collected only 3 international-class. At least more 2 seasons are required.

  14. Koller in the squad? He look me always as a average/good footballer, nothing more.

Can you explain why did added him to the squad?

    1. Well, there are few outstanding striker in history of Czechoslovakian football. Koller scoring statistics for Czech outweighs other candidates. He is lack of talent but his aerial style is undeniably very dangerous for opponent.

  15. Italian newspapers of the late 1920s and early 1930s refer to Pesek Kada in the same regard as they refer to Zamora in goal. He is mentioned as having been the greatest centre-half in Europe, as is stated in your headline. Every time Italy has played in Prague, the newspapers refer to Czechoslovakia as "the land of the great Kada".

"Il Littoriale" praises as sensational the match of Antonio Janni against Czechoslovakia in 1929 (International Cup), because it was astonishing that he outplayed Kada. By the way, Kada was 34 years old at the time!

I don't know about local sources because I can't speak Czech, but I believe Kada can be possibly a little bit underrated in your rankings, when consulting the sources. Or maybe the Italian press exagerated, I don't know.
