Formation XI (4-1-3-2)

Explanation of Formation

As the peak career of Zoff during 1970s should beat the 2000s of Buffon. Facchetti is applied to perform as right-back as it is much possible to play well as he is a natural right-foot player. Scirea will play as sweeper so Baresi has to apply himself as a stopper, should be no problem. Matthaeus is set as a DM. Maradona and Platini are untouchable first choice. Rivera is higher status of legends than Gullit who is selected to fulfill equivalent of formation as he could go right-wing very well. Meazza support Van Basten to make scores.

Diego Milito was the best player in serie A in 2010.

Sneidjer made irregular perfomances in that season, even Cambiasso or Maicon was more important and consistent than him.

    By the way, good work!!

    1. I saw they're in the same level between Sneijder and Milito but I personally consider Sneijder's style of play is more effective than that of Milito whose style is also not spectacular enough.

I understand your idea about the concept of spectacular, but i can't agree in the effective aspect. Milito may not a spectacular footballer but he was really effective and crucial for Inter.

Sneidjer in internacional competitions (Champions League and WC) was really great, but i can't say the same in the domestic competition (league), he was irregular, so less effective.

If the main criteria (i don't know) of this squad is domestic/international perfomance with italian teams and their contribution for the success, so Diego Milito. He was also the top scorer in italian cup, second best scorer at league, best foward and MVP of champions League 2009/2010.

Pirlo and Buffon not deserve a place in this team?

Pirlo made 490 games won the Serie A by two different teams Juventus and Milan were six titles and was also named player of the tournament
Buffon also has more titles than Zoff and was voted best goalkeeper of the last 25 years

    1. As I check, Buffon is rated below Zoff in domestic career (entirely series A). Although I specifies number of trophy acquisition, I'm not apply them into the rating and only individual performance is allowed.

  4. I believe the stats need updating, as Buffon has won 7 Titles (9 had it not been for the scandal in 06), not 2. He should be ahead of Zoff now.
